Here’s the key paragraph from a recent editorial in The Examiner.
“A new group, Friends of Englewood, has stepped up to raise the money to buy the two properties. This is not to reopen a five-and-dime or a one-screen theater. Those days aren’t coming back. This is preserving two historic sites in Englewood, while giving the friends group and the community time for a conversation about what programming would be a good ft and would be sustainable. Englewood Arts and other groups have done much to revive the area, and these properties would seem to fit nicely into that effort.”
